In conjunction with the Nemarluk School Council, the Nemarluk and Henbury Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) Program was initiated by a dedicated group of parents of children who have special needs. The Program commenced in July 1998. Students from Henbury School moved to their own program in 2008. Students from Nemarluk Pre and Primary School continue to attend the program at Nemarluk School.
The Program is located in the grounds of Nemarluk School and operates daily (Monday to Friday) between 2.30pm and 5.30pm. The Program is accredited by the Federal Government and therefore families may qualify for a rebate through the Childcare Benefit (CCB). CCB can be checked by phoning Family Assistance Office 136150 or visiting a Medicare office.
During the Program, students participate in many activities such as cooking, art/craft, music, computer games, swimming and outside play activities. The Program is registered with the Australian Government Active After School Program. Staff plan age appropriate activities for the students that are delivered in a warm supportive environment. Afternoon tea is provided each day.
The Program has full time places for 14 children. There is one place held for families that need emergency care after school. Siblings of students at Nemarluk may enrol.
If you would like to know more about the OSHC program please phone the Coordinator on 0455 240 310.
